MISA will be hosting a webinar on the elimination of violence and harassment within the workplace and more importantly, within the motor industry and you are invited!
You may wonder why workplaces and most importantly, employers should concern themselves with violence and harassment? Gender Based Violence (GBV), although it may occur outside of the workplace and often in the privacy of one’s home, has a far reaching impact. It does not only impact the domestic and/or social lives of those involved, but has the ability to spill over into the workplace or even worse, occurs within workplaces.
Despite pronouncements made by authorities in condemning these acts of violence and harassment, this scourge continues unabated. Yet, in an official statement made in support of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign for 2020, Government firmly placed the burden of preventing violence and harassment in the workplace in the hands of the employer. Therefore, employers are obligated to create a safe and conducive working environment for all which is free from violence and harassment.
The question arises though: How can employers effectively deal with this heavy burden when they have not been properly capacitated?
Join us on Wednesday, 04 August 2021 between 12:00pm -13:30pm as we shed greater light on the importance of this Convention and provide insight on how employers can create conducive workplaces and environments that are free from violence and harassment, including gender-based violence.
During this webinar we will receive insight from international experts who were involved in the adoption of the Convention; employee and employer representatives within the motor industry will also raise awareness on this important topic.
You will also receive a front row seat to an exciting announcement on initiatives to be launched within the retail motor industry which are aligned to the Convention.
We hope to see you there!
