MISA BENEFIT AND FUNERAL FUND
MISA Death Benefit Fund: R35 000
Subject to 26 weeks’ consecutive contribution, all MISA members will automatically qualify for this death benefit. In the event of suicide, 104 weeks’ of contributions must have been received. Payments are made directly to the nominated beneficiary upon the death of a member and the benefits do not become assets in the deceased person’s estate.
MISA Funeral Benefit Fund:
Subject to one week’s contribution, all active MISA members qualify for this funeral benefit.

If you make use of AVBOB (a preferred provider) funeral claims will be guaranteed subject to specific conditions.
All active MISA members automatically belong to this Fund, which covers principal members and the member’s immediate family such as a spouse, children and adopted children up to the age of 18 years and children over the age of 18 years who are registered as fulltime students or who are physically and/or mentally handicapped. A qualifying period of one week’s contributions by a registered member applies.
ADDITIONAL DEATH AND FUNERAL BENEFIT FOR MISA MEMBERS WHO BELONG TO THE SICK, ACCIDENT AND MATERNITY PAY FUND

FINANCIAL SUPPPORT WHEN IT COUNTS
Maternity Benefit
A maternity benefit to the value of R 2 500 is payable subject to a total of 26 weeks’ consecutive contributions. Applications must be made within 17 weeks from date of birth.
Retrenchment Benefit
A retrenchment benefit to the value of R 2 500 is payable subject to a total of 26 weeks’ consecutive contributions. Applications must be made within 13 weeks from date of retrenchment.
Ill-health/disability Benefit
An ill-health/disability benefit to the value of R2 500 is payable subject to a total of 26 weeks’ consecutive contributions. Applications must be made within 13 weeks from date of approval by the Retirement Fund.
Contingency Reserve
This Fund is administered by MIBCO and provides financial support to members in the event of the liquidation of their employers’ businesses.
EDUCATED MEMBERS
MISA encourages and assist its members with personal and professional development and offers the following:
The Educated MISA Members Programme*: Subject to specified criteria, MISA will pay 200 eligible MISA members who obtain a Matric or a Matric equivalent qualification between 1 January to 31 December a benefit of R2 500 per qualifying member.
The MISA Study Assistance Programme gives 70 MISA members the opportunity to further their tertiary studies through a recognised and/or duly registered institution between January and December, by means of a benefit of R10 000 study assistance, subject to specified criteria.
The MISA Bursary Fund annually offers 50 bursaries of R10 000 each to help fund the tertiary studies of children of MISA members, subject to specified criteria.

FORWARD-THINKING FINANCE
Retirement Option – Exclusive offer for MISA members
Making adequate provision for retirement should be a priority for all members. Nedbank Private Wealth, a high-end private bank which is part of the Nedbank Group, has developed an exclusive product for MISA members. The normal minimum investment amount is R750 000, but MISA members can invest in this fund from R250 000. While this product is aimed at MISA members who are 55 and older, those members who are not yet 55, but who are prepared to invest the minimum amount, will also qualify. HEALTHY MEMBERS
MISA encourages and assists its members in living a health, balanced life.
Healthy MISA Members*
Subject to specified criteria, MISA shall pay an amount of R2 500 per member per annum to 200 eligible MISA members who were off sick from work for a period of two days or less during the period 1 January to 31 December, and who attended at least one medical examination or participated in at least one wellness campaign during the year.
Healthy MISA Women*
Subject to specified criteria, MISA shall pay an amount of R2 500 (per female member) per annum to 200 eligible female members who attended to their health by doing a mammogram and pap smear during the period 1 January to 31 December.

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT | LIVING WILL
MISA provides members with an important additional benefit, namely the drawing up of a Last Will and Testament and/or Living Will at no additional cost. If MISA is appointed as Executor of the Estate, the following reduced fees are applicable:

DOMESTIC WORKERS: SERVICE CONTRACT AND UIF REGISTRATION
MISA can prepare a service contract for your domestic workers at no cost. In addition to this, and pursuant to the requirement that all domestic workers must be registered for UIF, MISA will also undertake the registration of a member’s domestic worker for UIF once the contract has been finalised.
COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
Members enjoy the focused approach of a well-versed collective bargaining team representing the members’ interests in the negotiating process dealing with wages and conditions of employment. MISA is a party to MIBCO and represents its members on all forums within the structures, both on a regional and national level.

Sick Pay
Sick pay for ten (10) days per annum at 100% of daily remuneration and thereafter and additional five (5) days at 50% daily remuneration.
Accident Pay
Accident pay for forty (40) days per annum at 75% of daily remuneration.
Maternity Benefits
Maternity benefits for female staff members at 30% of daily remuneration for 17 weeks.

Die fonds verskaf ’n personeelbesnoeiingsvoordeel ter waarde van R2 500 en is onderhewig aan 26 opeenvolgende weke se bydraes. Die aansoek moet binne 13 weke van personeelbesnoeiing geskied.
Mediese Ongeskiktheidsvoordeel
Die Fonds verskaf ’n mediese ongeskiktheidsvoordeel ter waarde van R 2 500 en is onderhewig aan 26 opeenvolgende weke se bydraes. Die aansoek moet binne 13 weke vanaf die datum van goedkeuring deur die Aftredingsfonds geskied.
Gebeurlikheidsfonds
Hierdie Fonds word deur MIBCO geadministreer en verskaf finansiële ondersteuning aan lede met betrekking tot likwidasie van hul werkgewers se ondernemings.
MISA-PERSOONLIKE ONTWIKKELINGSPROGRAM
MISA bemoedig en ondersteun sy lede met beroeps- en persoonlike ontwikkeling en bied die volgende:
Die MISA-Leerprogram*: 200 MISA-lede wat tussen 1 Januarie en 31 Desember suksesvol hul Matriek-sertifikaat of ekwivalent behaal die geleentheid om aansoek te doen vir ’n R2 500-voordeel per kwalifiserende lid, onderhewig aan sekere kriteria.

Misa-Beurse: MISA voorsien jaarliks 50 beurse ter waarde van R10 000 elk aan kinders van aktiewe MISA-lede, onderhewig aan sekere kriteria.

TOEKOMSGERIGTE FINANSIËLE BEPLANNING
Voorsiening vir Aftrede – Eksklusiewe aanbod van Nedbank Private Wealth
Om voorsiening te maak vir aftrede behoort vir elke lid ’n prioriteit te wees. Daarom het Nedbank Private Wealth, ’n eksklusiewe privaatbank wat deel is van die Nedbankgroep, ’n doelgemaakte produk vir MISA-lede ontwikkel wat naby aftrede is. Die normale minimumbelegging is R750 000, maar MISA-lede kan vanaf so min as R250 000 in hierdie fonds belê. Hoewel hierdie produk gemik is op MISA-lede 55 jaar en ouer, kwalifiseer lede wat nog nie 55 is nie, maar wat die minimum bedrag wil belê, ook. MISA bemoedig en ondersteun sy lede om gesoned en gebalanseerd te leef.
Gesonde MISA-lede*
Onderhewig aan sekere kritieria, sal MISA ’n bedrag van R2 500 per jaar betaal aan 200 kwalifiserende lede wat gedurende die tydperk 1 Januarie tot 31 Desember slegs twee dae of minder met siekverlof was, en wat minstens een mediese ondersoek ondergaan het en aan minstens een welstandprogram deelgeneem het.
Gesonde MISA-vroue*
Onderhewig aan sekere kritieria, sal MISA ’n bedrag van R2 500 (per vroulike lid) per jaar betaal aan 200 kwalifiserende vroulike MISA-lede wat gedurende die tydperk 1 Januarie tot 31 Desember ’n mammogram en papsmeer laat doen het.
* Let asb. daarop dat eise vir hierdie voordele eers vanaf 1 Januarie vir ‘n tydperk van 13 weke ingedien kan word. Voorkeur sal gegee word aan aansoeke wat eerste ontvang is.
TESTAMENT EN LEWENDE TESTAMENT
MISA voorsien lede van ’n belangrike bykomende voordeel, naamlik die opstel van Testamente en/of Lewende Testamente teen geen bykomende koste nie. Indien MISA aangestel word as Eksekuteur van die Boedel, is die volgende vermindere fooie van toepassing:

HUISHULPE: DIENSKONTRAK EN WVF-REGISTRASIE
MISA kan gratis dienskontrakte vir lede se huishulpe voorberei. Daarbenewens, en ooreenkomstig die vereiste dat alle huishulpe vir WVF geregistreer moet wees, sal MISA ook die WVF-registrasie gratis behartig nadat die kontrak gefinaliseer is.

Kraamvoordele vir vroulike personeellede vir 17 weke teen 30% van daaglikse besoldiging.
