#MISA members get the opportunity to upskill and enhance their future career opportunities by giving up 10 half-hour lunch sessions over the next few weeks to attend ten free #MISA Lunch-and-Learn training sessions starting on 13 September 2022.
Martlé Keyter, #MISA’s Chief Executive Officer: Operations, says the world is moving fast and changing rapidly. Employees in the retail motor industry needs to equip themselves for the challenges of the future.
“When you develop skills, you learn that what you are doing is more than just a job or a means to an end. It is the start of a career and your growth depends on yourself,” says Keyter.
Soft skills drive positive change in organizations and enhances efficiency. Insights derived from soft skills are valuable for streamlining processes and uncovering operational efficiencies.
Prof. Faan Crous, Educational Psychologist specialising in Psychometric Testing, says he has been in practise for more than forty years.
He recently spoke to a boy who felt he could not go and study next year because within ten years the career he will be studying for will no longer exists. Crous agrees, but says that most of the careers we find ourselves in today did not exist ten years ago.
“It is important to continue learning and have a broad perspective in whatever you do so that you can continue developing and learning new skills as time goes by. It is much easier to remain up to date with the latest development and skills than to try and pick-up when you are already way behind. Remember continuous learning is here to stay,” says Crous.
According to Michelle Vorster, Chairperson of the #MISA’s Young Worker’s Forum, these training sessions are phenomenal. They consists of basic life skills that everyone needs in order to enhance emotional intelligence and self-confidence, without effort.
Thandeka Phiri, #MISA’s National Training and Human Resource Manager, says #MISA members need to register for the unchandearn essions by sending an e-mail to training@ms.org.za
