MISA Bursaries & Educational Support

Dependents Benefit

School Support

Assisting with the rising costs of basic education for your children.

Securing the Next Generation

MISA does not want the children of its members to become part of the statistics of children dropping out of school due to the lack of financial support.

School Support pays R1 500 to the first three thousand members, who apply for this benefit annually, to support their children’s school needs from grades 1 to 12. The school must be registered with the Department of Basic Education or a duly accredited authorized entity.

Claims can be submitted from 1 January subject to 26 consecutive weeks’ contributions. Applications are treated on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Tertiary Benefit

Technical Bursaries

Advance Your Career

MISA's National Executive Council increased the annual bursaries so that the Union can assist 150 children of our valued members to help fund their tertiary studies.

This benefit pays up to R12 500 each to help fund the tertiary studies of children of members. MISA believes it is vital to help build skills for future generations to come.

Claims can be submitted from 1 January for a period of 13 weeks on a first-come-first-serve basis. Members must have a minimum of 5 consecutive years of membership.

Please note: MISA Bursary applications for children of MISA members are currently closed.
